M-Dot - No Money Down

M-Dot's New Music video "No Money Down" directed by Zach Voytas (has had several works on MTV2). The video was shot with the same type of camera they used for "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" and was filmed on location in California (the Mojave Desert). The radio single "No Money Down" is off of Commonwealth Records compilation CD A Boston State of Mind Vol.2 out now. The video will also be on Comcast Cable On-Demand soon!!!!

"In the video, M-Dot is a soldier who's lost contact with his troops. He's left to die in the desert but instead he survives and is able to find his way back to civilization with no assistance. The video is a metaphor for his independent mind state in the rap game and how he's grinded his way into every opportunity and blessing that has come his way thus far.

My local homies usually get love but this time they did me the favor, sending this in twice. Luckily I caught it the 2nd time and must I say M-Dot & his crew know how to shoot a video! the angles, the cuts, the focuses, were all in tune with the song making it blend in an absolutely brilliant way. Salute to Zach Voytas who directed this video, you've done very very well for yourself.

I wanted this tape to embody the idea that network media and social media are currently taking over our whole way of life. With that being said I decided to make a tape containing all "industry" beats or beats that had a "commercial" appeal. This was my way of showing versatility and but without sacrificing my creativity. If you listen to the songs, they all have that appeal but lyrically, I haven't changed a thing, I'm just as raw, creative and humorous as usual just with a more "mainstream" sound on this one. "Heart of the City" is obviously done over the classic Jay-Z beat of the same name. In this version I decided to recruit some EMS help & got M-Dot on the track. He kicks off the track reflecting on Boston and the fact that there "Ain't No Love" in the city at times but he embraces love or hate because it comes with the territory. I continue on the second verse speaking about New Bedford, MA aka Secret City and I go into detail about lack of love and support as well within the city for it's own artists and compare it to the likes of a basketball game with haters sitting on the sideline jealous while I'm starting. Hope you enjoy our spin on the classic!!

Revalation - "Net" Worth

Ok so here we have Revalation of EMS going in on Jae Millz's Bring It Back instrumental for about 2 minutes and some change. Rev has a pretty deep description of both his new project and the song below so I'll skip repeating his info and say I like the concept and feel of the song. My only criticisms would be that the focus of it was a little narrow. I hope to see Rev continue to progress on the mixtape however. Overall I'd encourage you to take a look.

About the Mixtape: I'm leaking a new joint in hopes that you can help me out to promote my upcoming mixtape "The Revalation Will Be Televised: Commercial Interruption" Coming Dec. 31st!!! This will be the first in my "The Revalation Will Be Televised" series. Originally I was only gonna do one with that title but came up with an idea to connect the tapes and give them that old school series feel where all the tapes have a connection & show a different sides of me as an artist. Commercial Interruption will be more of my commercial side (meaning the tracks will have commercial appeal or be on industry beats)

About the song "Net" Worth: This song is a representation of the New Era in Hip-Hop where the Internet has made it possible for indie artists, like myself, to compete for noteriety in an overly saturated "commercial market." The internet evens the game out just enough for this new generation of up and coming MC's to have a voice. With that said, I give you "Net" Worth, a play on words of course but also a reflection of my personal thoughts of the game and the people who don't support me, yet want something from me at the end of the day. So here's to them motherfuckers!! Time to get RAW!! 2:30 of STRAIGHT SPITTIN'!!

So it's finally here. I present to you "The Push Back" Mixtape. A collection of older, unreleased, and collaborative material put together to make one BANGIN' mixtape. I took a long time arranging and picking out tracks and didn't just throw this together because I wanted the listener to get a unique feel to what's to come on "The Revalation Will Be Televised" Mixtape droppin' late summer/early fall. The Push Back Mixtape features my crew EMS (M-Dot, Mayhem), also artists like Grime Tha MC (of The Camp), XL (of the Kreators), my other crew the Mic Murderers, and more....Beats from Kenshin & DJ Jean Maron (who's worked with Termanology, Reks, Akrobatik, etc.), just to name a couple.
