Brey Quick - Ridin N The Cadillac (ft Colby and Esco) (Produced by Gambitt)
So the other day, I had this instrumental produced by Gambitt off on of his very dope beat tapes. Brey heard the beat and pretty much wanted to tear it up, so I swing it to him and within a few days (less than a week) it got done! So here it is, Ridin N The Cadillac featuring Colby and Esco, produced by Louisiana's very own, Gambitt.

Brey Quick - Nobody Knows (Prod by M&D)
You've probably seen this joint around already but can anybody tell you that Brey did this track in Iceland? or that they designed this picture (above)? or that this joint was done in January? or that they set the whole M&D x Brey Quick connection up? Nah.. of course they can't, because they're not Sound Society, so there's no way, they go THAT hard. Brey is exactly what you would expect.. an absolute animal. So in the spirit of being egotistical, I declare this #NoDaysOff season! That is all.
Nobody Knows is produced by Louisiana producing duo M&D. Brey Quick is currently working on his collaboration album with Tim Lawrence entitled "International Ghost," the SkyedUP mixtape and several more collaborations that are set to be released in the near future.STREAM/DOWNLOAD

Brey Quick - Gobstopper
So the other day, I pitched this instrumental over to Brey Quick and he was more than excited about this track produced by Seven. Homie hit me within a few minutes, FROM ICELAND mind you, saying "Im READY!" The time difference didn't stop him from working on his music that's for sure.. "its 511am... I woke up out of nowhere... Saw the tweet.. Heard the beat... Im ready to rock.."

North Carolina's finest still continues to produce and record from Iceland in his spare time.

Brey Quick - All The Way Skyed Up
This joint got absolutely buried in my mail the other day, so the delivery on this was a little late. But anyways, Brey Quick had previously planned to release his mixtape #SkyedUp this year but those plans have changed for the time being. However, it doesn't mean you won't still be getting music. Brey explains:
The #SkyedUP mixtape will not drop this year... BUT, all of the music that was supposed to be on it WILL! Starting TODAY!

Brey Quick - Say Something
Last night, Brey Quick was in the mood to record a song but he didn't know what instrumental he should be rapping over. So I as well as another fan by the name of Andre suggested the Say Something instrumental. Brey said ok and he said he'd check it out, by the time I got home today, he was finished writing and recording the song. Check it out.

Brey Quick - From The Heart [Mixtape + Review]
Brey Quick is an up and coming rapper from out of North Carolina. He's had a few works circulating the underground including Brey Season, a much larger project that was constructed in the spring and early summer months. This newest project is a much smaller effort (10 tracks), in which Brey excercises his flows over a bunch of classic beats, with some being much more known than others.
Originality – 7/10
The originality of Brey’s songs were somewhat different in the sense that they didn’t focus on the typical tired subjects of being hood, being the best, denouncing haters or getting money. But the fact that we’ve heard these beats many times and Brey did not re-invent many choruses as artist often do to add originality to the song, hurts him. Also a mixtape of only 10 tracks gives him much less to work with, which drags brey down to a solid 7.
Lyrics/Delivery – 8.5/10
The lyrics varied from song to song. Sometimes Brey gave me some crazy lyrics like in “Relax Girl” that would prompt me to give him a 9 for its vivid storyline and flawless delivery. However there were songs like “My Way” that gave me lyrics that I would rate at an 8 for its predictability. Overall, Brey’s lyrical skill settles in at a solid 8.5
Concepts – 8.5/10
The real question of this mixtape is did Brey connect with the listeners?, because that seems to be the overall goal for this mixtape. He chose familiar beats to help usher the process and a short tracklist to help maintain everyone's focus. The subjects varied and Brey never strayed from some refreshing self-evaluation. The reminiscence of it all is real and keeps the mixtape feeling a lot more fresh as I cycle through the tracks. I think Brey established a personal connection between his listeners and himself, but there is still room from improvement.

OVERALL – 8.0/10
This is not a milestone of a mixtape, however it is a big step in gaining a more consistent fan base on Brey Quick's part. This mixtape surely shows the potential that Brey has lyrically. Its may very well become a stepping stone for him to create a much more in depth project that will propel him far into the music business as a both original and powerful lyricist.
